A regular day in the world of Lycee...
Spring cherry blossoms flutter softly in the afternoon wind, as students file cheerfully out of the school courtyard. White skies spotted with blue clouds complete the end of a perfect day. And so it begins...
A small white-haired girl walks against the flow of students leaving; a simple purple garb among red & pink uniforms. Standing in front of a particularly slow-moving school girl, she politely asks. "You are Kamishigi Akari, correct?"
"Yes, that's me." Akari politely bows.
The small girl claps her hands together triumphantly, and smirks. "Eheh... that's great!"
The schoolyard is almost empty now. Almost to emphasize the void, the skies fill with dark and dreary shadows as black mist creeps across the ground. Lifting a single finger to point at the confused student, the child's voice triumphantly commands:
"I can sense your magi powers, and I dislike competition in the Holy Grail War. You won't escape today; BERSERKER! GO!!"
A circular section of pavement shatters, sinking deep into the ground by an unknown force. Slowly, a giant monstrosity begins to form on the surface of the crater, swinging a boat-sized machete as if it were a toy.
"EEEP--" The student falls backwards on the pavement, too shocked to run for her life. Berserker eyes his prey...
Suddenly, a flash of silver and fire bursts from the school roof, arcing its flight into Berserker and piercing his last-moment block. Bouncing back from the strike, a senior student in a plain burgundy dress and white muffler stands; a sword of pure silver in one hand and Tiria Frey's Fierce Sword in the other. "..."
"...Kawasumi sempai!" Akari gasps.
Ilya stamps her feet in impatience. "Berserker! I didn't give you permission to die yet! I want her dead! NOW!" In response, the beast slowly crawls out of the crater, bloodthirst glowing brightly in his eyes...
Mai turns to Akari, and asks with utmost seriousness; "Are you my master?"
"..."
...it could happen!!
Lycee is the trading card game collaboration between Silver Blitz and numerous popular visual novel companies, including Key, Leaf/AQUAPLUS, and Type-Moon. You can check them out here:
All great things come from Japan. Unfortunately, many gaijin are unable to understand the pureness of moonspeak directly. This setback has never stopped us gaijin from buying Japanese products, though; for gaijin in love with the Lycee card game, we've started an organized translation effort! Target: every Lycee card ever printed!
The translation project at Zettai Ryouiki has been going on for a couple years now. We've completed our 7th card expansion set, out of 15 sets so far. In addition, we mirror all the Japanese card text of the cards, so you can use us like a Japanese Lycee card database too.
We've featured a link in the Linkblogs section of omoshiroi.info, on the right side. You can also visit us directly (we'll update the comic eventually):
